Car Bomb is one of the exciting bands that will be performing at the Rockstadt Extreme Festival, happening near Râșnov Fortress in Transylvania from 2-6 August 2023. The band's unique style, marked by their experimental and aggressive approach to metal, promises to be a highlight of the festival. Everyone involved with the festival is eagerly anticipating Car Bomb's performance and can't wait for attendees to experience their disorienting sound and tempo changes live.
Car Bomb is an American mathcore band from Long Island, New York that was formed in 2000. The band members include Michael Dafferner on vocals, Greg Kubacki on guitar, Jon Modell on bass, and Elliot Hoffman on drums.
The band released a three-track demo in 2004, which featured early versions of songs "Rid", "M^6" and "His Eyes". In 2007, Car Bomb released their debut album Centralia through Relapse Records.
The band members have day jobs in technologically-inclined professions, which restricts their schedules but offers them uncommon financial resources. This has allowed them to build their own studio and even make their own microphones from scratch, reducing their dependence on record labels to finance recordings and production costs.
Car Bomb's second album, w^w^^w^w (2012), features a guest vocal appearance from Joseph Duplantier of the band Gojira. Their third album, Meta (2016), also features a guest vocal appearance from Duplantier, as well as an appearance from Frank Mullen of Suffocation. The band released their fourth album, Mordial, in 2019, which was written and produced by Greg Kubacki and mixed by Adam "Nolly" Getgood (Periphery, Devin Townsend, Animals as Leaders).
Rockstadt Extreme Festival is excited to welcome Car Bomb to the lineup for the 2023 edition of the festival, which takes place near Râșnov Fortress in Transylvania from August 2-6. Fans can look forward to experiencing the band's unique sound live in person.
